Clinical Research Coordinator I, Thoracic Surgery

Under the guidance of the Senior Research Manager, the Clinical Research Coordinator is responsible for assisting in the management of all the databases and study documents. This includes maintaining databases, organizing study charts, entering data, and printing out relevant reports. Performing CRAs duties including, but not limited to recruiting patients for clinical trials, assisting with regulatory binders, preparing study data for audits, and providing support to the Research Fellows in research experiments and tissue/sample preparation on a regular basis. Communicate regularly with Senior Research Manager.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collects and organizes patient data
- Maintains records and databases
- Uses software programs to generate graphs and reports
- Recruiting patients for clinical trials, conducts phone interviews and schedules patients for visits.
- Obtains patient study data from medical records, physicians, etc.
- Conducts library searches
- Performs administrative support duties as required
- Verifies accuracy of study forms, Updates study forms per protocol
- Prepares data for analysis and data entry. Assists with formal audits of data
- Documents patient visits and procedures. Assists with regulatory binders and QA/QC procedures.
- Assists with interviewing study subjects
- Administers and scores questionnaires
- Provides basic explanation of study and in some cases obtains informed consent from subjects
- Performs study procedures such as phlebotomy.
- Assists with study regulator submissions. Writes consent forms
- Verifies subject inclusion/exclusion criteria
QUALIFICATIONS:
- BS OR BA
- New graduate with relevant course or project work
Must be well-organized and detail-oriented with good computer skills. Time-management, multitasking and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, developing organization are essential.
