The position:
Our Patient Services Coordinators are the first point of contact with our patients via telephone, text, and email. As first impressions are lasting impressions, it's vital that our Patient Services Coordinators be energetic, articulate, exude positivity, to thoughtfully represent our practice.
Here's an glimpse into what a Patient Services Coordinator might do in a day:
- Respond to incoming calls, emails, and text messages promptly.
- Accurately schedule wellness and treatment appointments.
- Give a nervous patient a pep talk and congratulate them for calling to schedule.
- Review the schedule for the upcoming days to ensure patients are correctly scheduled and we have all the information required to make each visit successful.
- Call an insurance company, and help a patient understand their dental insurance benefits and how their plan might (or might not) help cover the cost of care.
- Collaborate with the clinical team to accommodate dental emergencies, even on busy days.
- Answer treatment questions that patients may have both before and after their visit.
- Assemble post-op care bags with supplies like soup, tea, and Advil to give to patients after surgical procedures.
- Help a patient understand and pay their balance.
- Reach out to patients who needed to cancel an appointment to follow up and help them reschedule.
- Let patients know when it's time for their next dental wellness visit.
- Address patient concerns and work with the team to improve service quality.
Who we're looking for:
- At least one year of experience in a dental practice is strongly preferred, however, we will consider training the right candidate if they have at least one year of medical or customer service experience.
- Flexibility in scheduling, including the ability to work evenings (until 9pm), weekends, and holidays.
- Experience providing exceptional hospitality-inspired customer service in a fast-paced office environment.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- A positive, friendly, professional, and enthusiastic attitude.
- Outstanding teamwork skills and the ability to work with a diverse group.
- Excellent phone and written skills because you'll spend your days communicating via phone, email, and text message.

Capability Requirements
Majority of work is completed in a general office environment with exposure to moderate levels of noise in a well-lit, well-ventilated and fast paced environment; continuously required to read computer screens. Minimal travel is required, 5% or less; travel is regional in scope requiring travel by driving.
