ASSISTANT DISPENSARY MANAGER JOB DESCRIPTION:
Assistant Dispensary Manager helps oversees the daily operations and transactions of the dispensary, handling the needs of all customers and developing a professional team that is passionate about cannabis. The Assistant Manager reports directly to the Dispensary Manager and Company leadership to ensure the facility's sound record keeping and compliance with local and state regulations. Priorities include the implementation of dispensary policies, oversight product inventory and supervision of dispensary staff.
Sales and Revenue:
- Oversees sales, service, and profit goals and lead staff to exceed them
- Work with the buyer to procure an adequate supply of quality products
- Manage and maintain dispensary sales and inventory management software
- Document financial, Inventory and customer trends; maintain sales and purchasing reports
Customer Experience:
- Create a warm and welcoming environment for staff and customers
- Routinely work with vendors and community members
Operations:
- Ensure the safety and satisfaction of every customer and employee
- Implement and manage dispensary policies and procedures directed by the company
Compliance:
- Ensure the dispensary's compliance with security, inventory and local and state regulations
- Ensure employees follow company protocols.
Staffing and Employee Engagement:
- Manage and inspire staff to deliver the highest level of customer service
- Create and oversee scheduling based on staffing needs
- Responsible for providing a high level of education and development for staff pertaining to cannabis strains, edibles, concentrates and consumption mechanisms
- Communicate with and coach staff on a regular basis to ensure the dispensary's excellence in service
- Review performance of dispensary employees on a regular basis.
- Lead morning meetings to direct sales goals, address employee concerns and prepare the team for the day ahead.
Performance Requirements and Skills:
The ideal candidate must have an in depth knowledge of cannabis retail operations, regulations and products/brands, including a working familiarity with cannabis point-of-sale systems; Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents relating to dispensary performance, general business periodicals, professional journals, safety, security and technical procedures, and governmental regulations; Be a practical, organized, patient and a pro-active thinker, with high attention to detail; a leader with a successful track record managing customer focused teams; must be able to multitask in a fast paced environment; ability to communicate clearly and effectively in all situations with staff and customers and work under pressure without losing composure.
Job Requirements:
- Associate's Degree or equivalent preferred
- 1+ years management experience required
- 1+ years of cannabis retail experience required
- Must be 21 years of age
- Must possess a valid license or state ID
- Must be available to work varied hours and/or days, including nights, weekends, and Holidays
Physical Qualifications:
Bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds by themselves and 75+ pounds with a buddy, ability to be on standing or sitting for long periods of time.
