We are currently looking for a Swim Team Coach that will provide direct leadership, instruction and motivation to the SJJCC Barracudas Swim Team. If that is you, please read on.
Our Per Diem Swim Team Coach is responsible for planning and coaching the members of the SJJCC Barracudas Swim Team. Applicants must be responsible, alert, reliable, possess a strong work ethic and have a positive attitude. This is a pipeline job posting for one of several opportunities to join the agency.
Our Per Diem Swim Team Coach will work out of our Nassau Count (East Hills), Long Island.
How You’ll Help Us Be Successful:
- Coaching swim team
- Deliver fun swim program to swim team
- Supervise all children on the team during practice
- Adapt coaching approaches to the age, experience and ability.
- Assist other Aquatics team members where appropriate
- Attentiveness to visual and audible cues for recognition and identification of swimmers in distress or in process of unsafe behaviors
- Provide motivation, encouragement and positive energy to each member of the swim team
- Planning practices, clinics, and meets
- Coaching practices, clinics, and meets
- Provide a safe, organized and clean pool area
- Gather all necessary items before practice and clean them up afterwards
- Lock up all swim team equipment after every practice
- Proactive with informing supervisor of any issues, suspicious or inappropriate behaviors
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with members and barracuda families
- Respond to questions, comments and concerns in an efficient and positive way
- Promote and sell programs & services and assist members with registering.
- Treat all children, members, guests, coworkers, lifeguards, etc. respectfully
- Arrive punctually for every practice, clinic, and meet
- Submit proper administrative paperwork for all payroll accurately
- Keep track of all swim team practices, clinics, and meets, and log hours
What You’ll Need To Be Successful:
- High School Diploma/GED
- Swim lesson instruction or coaching experience
- American Red Cross Lifeguard and First Aid
- American Red Cross CPR/AED
- Nassau County Lifeguard Certification (IA or IB)
- Water Safety Instructor Certification preferred
- Reliable team player with the ability to work under pressure and multitask
- Excellent communication with employees, members, and guests
- Enthusiastic, friendly, positive attitude and professional appearance
