Position: Bookkeeping/Accountant Consultant

Position Summary
CT Family Care Services (CTFCS) is seeking a meticulous and experienced Bookkeeping/Accountant Consultant to join our team. This role is essential for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, and ensuring the smooth operation of financial processes within our organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Transactions: Create financial transactions by posting information to accounting journals or software from source documents such as invoices, cash receipts, and supplier invoices.
- Reconciliation: Reconcile accounts weekly to ensure the accuracy of financial reports.
- Reporting: Provide financial reports to the President on a weekly basis and as needed for bank loans, project proposals, grants, and insurance reimbursements.
- Accounts Receivable: Ensure prompt collection of receivables.
- Collaboration: Work with external accountants (CPA) to prepare financial statements and external payroll companies for accurate payroll processing.
- Medical/Mental Health Billing: Handle medical and mental health billing efficiently using the agency's electronic medical records and financial systems.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree, Master’s degree or higher in Accounting, Accounting & Taxation, Business Management, or related fields.
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a bookkeeper and/or accountant. Experience in mental health or medical billing is preferred but not required.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in software programs including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), QuickBooks, and other accounting software.
- Bilingual: Proficiency in English or another language is preferred but not required.
- Professional Requirements: Valid driver's license, car insurance, and professional liability insurance. Trusted letters of recommendation and a completed background check, including CORI, are required.
- Other Skills: Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to learn and use the agency’s electronic medical records and financial systems.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary: $59,443 to $71,500 per year, based on experience and qualifications.
