**Deli Manager Job Description**
**Job Summary:**
As the Deli Manager, you will oversee the deli department and its team, ensuring efficient operation and exceptional customer service. You will be responsible for supervising deli employees, creating schedules, implementing merchandising and sales initiatives, and maintaining a high standard of product presentation.
**Duties & Responsibilities:**
- **Supervise and Lead:** Manage deli staff by leading, training, and coaching the team. Resolve conflicts, maintain motivation, and ensure efficient workflow during busy periods.
- **Customer Service:** Greet and assist customers, take orders, and ensure a pleasant shopping experience. Address and resolve customer inquiries and concerns.
- **Merchandising:** Maintain merchandise presentation by ensuring freshness, cleanliness, and organization of products. Oversee stocking, rotating, and removing items as necessary.
- **Food Preparation:** Assist with slicing, weighing, packaging, and labeling various deli products, including meats and cheeses. Prepare catering and delivery orders as required.
- **Inventory Management:** Monitor and replenish products in deli cases. Check inventory, date items received, manage product ordering, and handle associated paperwork.
- **Maintenance:** Ensure cleanliness of shelving, refrigeration equipment, storage, prep, and display areas. Document any equipment maintenance or safety concerns for department management.
**Qualifications:**
1. At least one year of deli experience, with a minimum of two years in a supervisory role in any capacity.
2. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
3. Proficiency with SQUARE systems.
4. Excellent customer service and communication skills.
