Under the general supervision of the physician owners and clinical team, the Medical Assistant has primary responsibility of:
Patient Care:
- Greet and escort patients to examination rooms.
- Obtain and record patient medical history, vital signs, and chief complaints.
- Assist healthcare providers during examinations and minor medical procedures.
- Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed by physicians
Clinical Support:
- Prepare and maintain examination rooms with necessary supplies and equipment.
- Perform basic laboratory tests such as blood draws, urinalysis, and specimen collection.
- Coordinate and schedule diagnostic tests and imaging studies.
- Ensure proper sterilization and maintenance of medical instruments.
Administrative Duties:
- Schedule patient appointments and manage the appointment calendar.
- Verify and update patient information in electronic health records (EHR).
- Handle patient inquiries, both in-person and over the phone, with professionalism and courtesy.
- Assist with insurance verification and billing processes.
Communication and Collaboration:
- Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and other healthcare team members.
- Collaborate with the front desk, nursing staff, and other medical assistants to ensure smooth workflow.
- Relay important information between patients and healthcare providers.
Patient Education:
- Provide patients with information on medications, treatment plans, and preventive care.
- Educate patients on proper health maintenance and lifestyle choices.
- Assist in developing educational materials for patients.
Compliance and Quality Assurance:
- Adhere to all applicable healthcare regulations and maintain compliance with privacy laws.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ensure adherence to practice protocols.
EDUCATION:
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a medical assistant program.
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA)
EXPERIENCE:
- 3+ years experience
- EPIC proficiency
- Previous experience in a medical office or outpatient setting is advantageous.

- Outstanding communication skills in all formats: written, phone, electronic, in-person
- Proven ability to handle sensitive information in a discrete manner

- Excellent relationship management skills, including negotiating, mediating, and facilitating
- Ability to multitask and change priorities to best meet patient needs
- Competent with Microsoft Office desktop applications, EPIC, web-based communication platforms
- Proven level of professionalism to interact effectively with all levels administrative staff in and out of the department
- Ability to practice within scope and collaborate with clinical team members.
- Proficient in basic medical procedures and use of medical equipment.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
Job Type: Part Time or Full-time, on site, M-F 8:30 am - 5 pm
Salary: $25 - 30.00 per hour
