- Play the lead role in the execution of all Special Events including vision, goals, objectives, overall design, accountability structures, staffing, resource needs, and evaluation. Annual events include: Annual Benefit, NYC Event, and Golf Outings, etc. (80%)
- Event responsibilities include: (in conjunction with Development Team)
- Determine event outcomes to be achieved and measured
- Take the lead on all planning, logistics, response management, follow-up calls, vendor relationships, venue communication, and correspondence with supporters and prospects
- Follow-up with all donors and prospects following each event for further cultivation and stewardship
- Manage the annual Development Planning process with Director of Development, Individual, Corporate Giving & Special Events (10%)
- Support Director of Development and Vice President of Institutional Advancement in external donor work (10%)
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- Minimum 7 years-experience in a professional setting; minimum 3 years work experience in a non-profit setting
- Proven ability to collaborate and manage staff
- Fundraising and Development skills including relationship-building with different constituencies, excellent attention to detail and the ability to think strategically and creatively
- Understanding and appreciation for systems and promoting institutional memory
- Comfort interacting with High Net Worth Individuals and Board of Directors
- Excellent social and interpersonal skills and comfort speaking in public
- Be a flexible, skilled problem-solver and self-starter
- Ability to work interactively and collaborate as a team
- Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office, database and internet applications, Raisers’ Edge preferred
