Who You Are:
The successful Senior Financial Analyst candidate willperform key duties such as building and maintaining project financial models, budgeting and forecasting, financial statement analysis, business analytics, and supporting monthly closing and reporting processes.
- Demonstrate willingness to learn AVANTech’s projects from the ground up while providing suggestions to streamline processes
- Possesses analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Highly proficient with excel and enjoys financial modeling
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to present financial information to a non-financial audience
- Prefers working in person and not remotely
- Detail-oriented and willing to rise to the occasion when given critical projects
- Focus on ongoing timeliness, integrity and accuracy of company forecasts and models
The Senior Financial Analyst’s Day in the Life:
- Help management achieve the company's annual and long-term financial targets, using predictive modeling, and identifying key business drivers
- Assist with the financial planning process through building and maintenance of associated models, including forecasts, budget, and long-term planning processes
- Review and explain variances in financial results against budget/forecast, prior year and assist with developing updated forecasts
- Support executive management to drive operating metrics including target setting, guideline creation, reporting and analysis
- Provide business partners with financial insights and analysis to identify potential risks and opportunities
· Develop presentations to communicate the Company’s results and forecasts to senior management, and other key stakeholders
- Maintain and build project specific reporting tools for functional leaders to provide improved visibility and accuracy of business projections
- Design, and improve standard processes and procedures by identifying trends, inefficiencies, and gaps in financial processes
- Partner with cross-functional teams to analyze data and improve reporting tools
- Support monthly closing, reporting and analysis
- Complete ad-hoc and special projects as requested
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance and a minimum of 3-5 years’ experience preferred in financial analysis
- Project based accounting experience preferred
- Strong financial and data analysis skills
- Demonstrate advanced proficiency using Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Reporting directly to the CFO. Collaboration among current finance personnel is vital to the success of this role
