Position Summary
You will be preforming various service-related duties for aircraft and customers utilizing the facility. These duties include, but are not limited to, driving fueling equipment, fueling aircraft, towing aircraft, assisting passengers and flight crews with luggage, and operation of the bulk fuel storage facility. Work as part of a team to provide everyone with a friendly welcoming environment. Collaborate, cooperate and work closely with all coworkers, customers and other visitors to ensure customer service needs are met. Increase customer satisfaction by understanding and promptly addressing customers’ needs. Accurately receive, dispatch and completely process customer purchases and fuel transactions through use of our POS system. Maintain a positive attitude, consideration and display courtesy to everyone at all times.
Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
You will be our first point of contact for arriving passengers and flight crews. We are counting on you to wow our customers with great customer service, and to anticipate their needs.
- Assist flight crews, once passenger needs have been met, with ground transportation, service request (fuel, catering, etc.), or other various requests.
- Gathering and disseminating service requests and length-of-stay information from the flight crews and recording this information.
- Employ standardized practices and procedures to service aircraft (including but not limited to: towing and refueling) in a safe and efficient manner.
- Refilling refueler units at the bulk fuel storage facility.
- Performing various aircraft service duties, as directed in a safe and efficient manner.
- Always performing your work in a safe manner, which includes protections of customer assets (aircraft). Proper procedures, guidelines, and regulations.
- Regular and reliable in-person and timely attendance which may include nights, weekends and/or holidays as scheduled.
- Clearly communicate in English and with the proper tone in person, via telephone, fax, radio communicators, and in various forms of writing such as data entry, email and hand-written documents.
- Operate a multi-line telephone and use the company-approved greeting.
- Drive cars, vans, fueling and other aviation industry equipment.
- Independently and proactively anticipate customer needs/requests, perform open job tasks.
- Be actively engaged in participating in a robust safety culture and report any safety concerns immediately.
- Proficiency in computer operations (internet, email, Word, Excel) and typing, with an ability to learn new software.
- Work well as part of a team, get along with others, understand and follow directions and instructions the first time, follow all company policies and procedures, and ask questions to clarify instructions.
- Ability to handle stressful situations and high-profile clientele with poise, effectiveness, confidentiality and professionalism and always with a sense of cultural awareness and sensitivity.
- The ability to multi-task is essential part of this position.
Education Requirements (Evaluation Factors: Skills, Education, Experience, Ability)
- High School Diploma, GED or any combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
Experience Requirements
- Experience preferred in the FBO or airline industry, materials handling or customer service.
Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- The ability to safely and efficiently operate powered industrial equipment
- The ability to use a personal computer, with skills in Microsoft Windows, including Outlook, Word and Excel.
- This position requires skills in prioritization, organization, verbal communications and interpersonal relations.
Licenses Required
You will receive Professional Aviation Line Service Training, and it be required for you to earn, and maintain:
- NATA Professional Line Service Training certification
Latitude/Independent Judgment/Accuracy
- Diligence must be exercised when handling confidential information.
- Reasonable care for equipment/process will prevent injury/damage.
- Responsible for own work but must coordinate work with others.
Working Conditions
- Physical Demand - Use of personal protective equipment is required. May be exposed to heat, cold, rain and snow in a noisy environment. You must possess the ability to perform strenuous physical activities such as lift passenger bags weighing 50 pounds or more, engage in sustained physical exertion and perform arduous work under adverse conditions and maintain physical fitness pertinent to the work.
- Mental and/or Visual Demand - Mental and visual demands are high and vary with function performed. Consistent mental attention is needed to respond safely and efficiently.
- Specific vision abilities include close, distance, color and peripheral vision, and depth perception. Employees are required to have the visual acuity to analyze data and figures, operate a computer terminal.
- Exposed to normal aviation environment.
- Will be subject to recall after normal duty hours, and some mandatory overtime in order to meet the needs of the operation could be required.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 18 years of age.
- Previous customer service experience.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
- Good organizational skills.
- Must maintain a valid state driver’s license.
- Ability to comprehend and perform basic math calculations with minimal errors.
- Proficiency in use of MS Office applications including Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Flexible work schedule may include working overtime, nights, on weekends, holidays, and be on call.
