Residential Position: Food and housing provided (Immediate Start- August 16, 2024)
The Special Diets Chef is a member of the Camp Micah kitchen staff who is responsible for preparing meals for campers and staff on special dietary plans (Gluten Free, Dairy Free, Vegan, Vegetarian, etc). We typically have about 65 people on special dietary plans. The Special Diets Chef is also responsible for assisting the Head Chef in preparation of meals and assisting managing other kitchen staff (baker, line cooks, dishwashers, dining hall staff, as needed when time permits).
- In consultation with the Head Chef, Food Service Manager, and Upper Administrators, Plan a 10 week menu for 60 plus campers and staff that includes breakfast, lunch, dinner and evening snack, when the camp meal served will not suffice. Most meals mirror what the camp is being served when possible.
- Oversee ordering of food and dry goods through our purchasing agent
- Inventory control
- Opening and closing of the kitchen at the beginning and end of the season
- Pre-camp meals for staff with Head Chef and Food Service Manager
- Post-camp special diet meals for Camp Northbound staff and campers (30 people)
- Maintaining a high level of safety and cleanliness
- Operating electrical and mechanical equipment in the Dining Hall and kitchen
- Overseeing cleanliness of kitchen and special diet’s kitchen preparation area
- Maintaining professional working relationships with and between kitchen staff, dining hall staff, counselor staff, and administration.

- Submit all required reports and paperwork on time

- Be responsible for any other duties as may be required by the camp administration and/or Head Chef
Qualifications:
- Experience cooking in institutional or small/ large scale food service setting
- Able to lift/unload food and supplies
- Good knife skills
- Self starter
- Good organization skills

Pay: $3,000.00 - $3,500.00 per month
