As a Nurse Educator at Sumner College, you will be a key figure in preparing our students for successful careers in nursing and healthcare. You will be responsible for developing and delivering educational programs, teaching nursing courses, and mentoring students to ensure they are well-prepared to provide high-quality patient care.
Job Summary:
The Nurse Educator will educate and oversee students during their lectures and training in labs also, actively participating in curriculum development. Responsibilities will include evaluating students' performance and offering valuable feedback on their program advancement. The Nurse Educator will be a passionate and dedicated teacher who remains current with the latest advancements in nursing research and effectively conveys this information to students.

Requirements:
- Unencumbered Oregon RN license
- Master's degree in nursing
- At least 2 years nursing experience
- Ability to engage students in active learning and critical thinking.
- Excellent communication skills
- Background in Medical Surgical
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Guide and supervise students in their lab skills.
- Engages students by creating and maintain a safe and encouraging learning environment.
- Documents student’s attendance, participation, and post grade in accordance with college policy
- Provides timely and constructive feedback.
- Support the delivery of the College mission, vision, program, and course outcomes.
- Participate in curriculum evaluation and planning.
- Meet in-service and professional development requirements.
- Maintain knowledge of and adhere to the Board of Nursing Chapter 851 Division 21 Standards for Approval: Nursing Faculty
- Other duties as assigned by the department head.
