Job Description: Horticulture Technician
Mission Statement: Sycamore Landscape Design Build exists to design and build timeless outdoor living spaces for families to cherish for generations.
Summary: A Horticulture Technician at Sycamore Landscape Design Build has at least 1-2 year of experience working hands-on in the landscape, gardening or small farming industry. They understand the amount of dedication and detail it takes to maintain a built landscape environment. Our Horticulture technicians are competent and highly motivated people that love communicating clearly and creating and maintaining beautiful landscapes that exceed clients expectations. Our horticulturists humbly teach and encourage team members on all aspects of the landscape maintenance processes and techniques. They work to create a collaborative environment where efficiency and details can thrive in order to reach the goals for each day and each project.

o Works hard throughout the day. This job is not for everyone. It requires a lot of lifting, pushing and pulling heavy objects. In addition, digging in all types of earth, moving wheelbarrows full of soil, rocks, concrete and the like. You are expected to be able to do the work each day for a 25-50 hours per work week.
o Eager to learn new tasks.
o Listens to instructions and executes the plan. Enjoys accepting and giving constructive criticism in order for myself and the team to become better.

Key Skills: What you will need do in order to be successful.
- Has a good all-around plant knowledge and identification.
- Experience with proper tree, shrub and herbaceous pruning procedures based on plant species.
- Excellent weed ID and great weed removal techniques.
- Experience with edging and mulching beds with correct practices surrounding trees,
shrubs and herbaceous plant material.
- Has a desire to work beyond the horticulture side of landscaping and branch into installing hardscape, masonry and landscape lighting.
- Lifting and moving heavy objects.
- Digging and raking - soil, sand and stone.
- Able to move and accurately dump a full wheelbarrow.
- Listens and communicates well- accepts and gives constructive feedback.
- Acknowledges and learns from mistakes to better myself and the team.
- Experience driving a 3/4ton truck and trailer. (not required)
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Internship
Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 – 50 per week
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
