Our mission is to provide information technology leadership, services, and innovative solutions to promote the research, education, and community service goals of the University.
The OIT Project Management Office provides leadership and coordination of large cross-functional projects. We also develop and continually enhance project management guidelines and tools and educate project leaders throughout the university on utilizing project management best practices.
Under the direct supervision of the Senior Project Manager, the Project Manager uses project management concepts and applies campus, medical center or Office of the President policies and procedures to resolve routine issues. Works on technical project management activities of limited scope and complexity including developing, maintaining, and managing project artifacts including project charter, project management plans, project schedule, risk/action item/issue/decision logs, status reports, etc. The Project Manager learns and applies industry standard technical project management frameworks, methods, and techniques to manage and lead multiple concurrent projects of limited scope, size, impact, budget and / or project team size, with limited impact to the organization. Follows standard practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data from which answers can be readily obtained.
The incumbent also helps support medium-to-large-scale, highly technical projects which includes coordinating meetings, driving tasks, and tracking and reporting on project status, risks, and issues.
Additionally, as member of UCI OIT’s Project Manager Office (PMO), the Project Manager helps shape how the PMO serves the campus.
