Overview:
At Manhattan Mental Health, we are dedicated to providing accessible and expert online therapy services to our community. We are currently seeking a detail-oriented Billing Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be hands-on in all billing operations, ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of the billing process. This role requires expertise in submitting claims, data entry, resubmitting rejected and denied claims, and managing client communications regarding billing issues.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Billing Operations:
- Perform accurate and timely submission of medical claims.
- Handle all data entry related to billing and patient information.
- Resubmit rejected and denied claims, ensuring they are corrected and processed promptly.
- Contact clients whose credit cards are invalid and obtain updated payment information.
- Address and resolve client billing inquiries and issues professionally and efficiently.
2. Strategic Prioritization:
- Prioritize urgent billing items to maximize revenue flow.
- Identify and address bottlenecks in the billing process to improve efficiency.
3. Reporting and Analysis:
- Assist in generating reports on the health and performance of the billing department.
- Analyze billing data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
4. Compliance and Best Practices:
- Ensure all billing practices comply with relevant laws and regulations.
- Stay updated with the latest industry best practices and billing procedures.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in medical billing, with a preference for psychotherapy billing.
- Proven experience in submitting claims, data entry, and resubmitting rejected and denied claims.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in billing processes.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to prioritize urgent tasks effectively.
- Proficiency in medical billing software and tools.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive client communications with professionalism and tact.
- Strong analytical skills to assist in generating reports and identifying areas for improvement.
