Duties and Responsibilities:
· Greet patients professionally both in person and on the phone
· Quickly answer or properly refer questions and issues to appropriate personnel
· Optimize patient satisfaction with efficient scheduling of any diagnostic testing or office appointments
· Check in patients for all scheduled appointments, properly identify patient using two patient identifiers, and notify patient care team of patient arrivals
· Comfort patients by anticipating anxieties and effectively answering questions
· Ensure availability of treatment information by retrieving and updating patient records
· Obtain any referrals or authorizations needed for testing patients
· Provide new patient paperwork to patients new to the practice
· Fax preoperative orders or operative notes to referring physicians or appropriate centers involved in the patient’s care
· Distribute all incoming faxes to appropriate personnel and scan into electronic health record if necessary
· Prepare all diagnostic testing and office visit charts using the required check list. This will include making sure all paperwork, insurance cards, identification cards, email address, primary care physician, and pharmacy are up to date.
· Verify all diagnostic testing orders match what is scheduled in electronic health record
· Collect any patient charges and/or balances required for diagnostic testing patients. Document the payments on the copay log and fax to the billing office. If payment is by check or cash, complete deposit slip and give to office manager
· Verify correct patient identifiers prior to scanning any documents into electronic health record
· Scan all operative notes, fax confirmations, and surgical consents and documentation into electronic health record
· Verify all operative notes are completed by physician performing procedure
· Schedule all post operative office visits and diagnostic testing for all surgical patients
· Create all labels and wrist bands for upcoming procedures.
· Work closely with preoperative coordinator for delegation of duties such as preparing empty charts for new patients
· Distribute daily schedules to the nursing staff, anesthesia, OR techs and doctor
· Order oxygen when requested by patient care team
· Other duties as assigned

Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour
