What part will you play?
- GAF Energy is seeking an Equipment Maintenance Supervisor who will be responsible for supervising the repair and maintenance of industrial equipment and machinery and will lead a team of Equipment Maintenance Technicians.
- You will report to the Manufacturing Engineering Director and will work cross-functionally to support the Manufacturing teams. You will join a highly focused team that thrives in a start-up, fast-paced environment.
- You will be part of the team that is responsible for the manufacturing and delivery of high-quality, high-volume photovoltaic solar technology solutions that are transforming today’s roofs. The role will focus on sustaining and improving equipment performance to support high-volume manufacturing.
- This is a hands-on position that will work alongside their team to ensure maximum equipment uptime, identifying and solving problems.
What will you do?
- Supervise the Equipment Maintenance Technician team.
- Provide hands-on assistance as needed to assemble, test, and maintain manufacturing tools and equipment.
- Perform preventive maintenance, repairs, and calibration on tools and equipment.
- Perform Root Cause Analysis / Downtime Report of equipment through systematic analysis and drive for Equipment Availability. Identify and solve equipment-related problems in a timely manner.
- Schedule / Perform regular inspections to identify and correct equipment malfunctions
- Use equipment tracking systems to keep track of equipment and tool history.
- Read and follow manuals, diagrams, and schematics for equipment operations, repairs, and maintenance.
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot relay logic, ladder diagrams, and control components, such as motor starters, relays, limit switches, photoelectric sensors, timers, solenoids, servo drives, linear drives, and encoders.
- Develop and update preventive maintenance and repair procedures.
- Maintain inventory control of spare parts and consumables.
- Propose opportunities to enhance equipment performance and reliability.
- Monitor equipment effectiveness.
- Identify and correct equipment inaccuracies or inefficiencies.
- Assist engineering and manufacturing teams on improvement projects.
- Assist with equipment qualification, experiments, and data collection.
- Assist with software upgrades and enhancements.
- Perform emergency/unscheduled repairs of equipment.
- Ensure the assigned Equipment Maintenance Technician team performs scheduled and preventative maintenance of equipment.
- Ensure the assigned team performs service and maintains equipment such as stringers, foil cutters, conveyors, soldering machines, laminators, IV/EL testers, and other assembly equipment.
- Comply always with the Environment, Health and Safety, and Manufacturing Quality standards, rules, and regulations.
- Lead or participate in activities pertaining to workflow and process improvements.
- Other duties as assigned.
What do we require from you?
- 1-3+ years of experience working in a Supervisor role.
- 4+ years of experience in manufacturing equipment installation, repair, and maintenance.
- Associate’s Degree (AA) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school is preferred, but not required.
- Experience in manufacturing expansions and ramp-ups is beneficial.
- Experience in deployment of automatic or semi-automatic manufacturing equipment.
- Experience in PLCs (especially Siemens) and HMIs is a plus.
- Knowledge of electric control systems, motor starters, heater circuits, relays, fuses, transformers, and contactors.
- Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, compressors, and cooling towers.
- Ability to read hydraulic/pneumatic/electrical diagrams.
- Computer literate (Microsoft Office Suite and/or Google Workspace applications).
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with internal and external functional teams verbally and in writing.
- Self-motivated, proactive, efficient, and strong attention to detail.
- Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
