SUMMARY
We're seeking a skilled and experienced database administrator to join our IT Team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the performance, integrity, and security of our database. The DBA will ensure that our database operate efficiently and effectively to meet the needs of our organization.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Install, configure, and maintain database management systems (DBMS) such as Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, or PostgreSQL
Monitor and optimize database performance, including tuning queries, optimizing data storage, and implementing best practices
Ensure data integrity and security through regular backups, disaster recovery planning, and access controls
Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues, such as connectivity problems, performance bottlenecks, and data corruption
Perform database upgrades, patches, and migrations as required
Develop and implement database policies, procedures, and standards to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices
Collaborate with developers, system administrators, and other IT staff to support database-related projects and initiatives
Provide technical support and training to end-users as needed
Stay current with emerging technologies and trends in database administration
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field
Proven experience as a Database Administrator, preferably in a similar role or industry
Proficiency in database management systems such as Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, or PostgreSQL
Strong understanding of database architecture, design, and administration principles
Experience with database performance tuning, optimization, and troubleshooting
Knowledge of data backup and recovery procedures, disaster recovery planning, and security best practices
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
Relevant certifications (e.g., Oracle Certified Professional, Microsoft Certified Database Administrator) are a plus
