Summary
We are seeking a dynamic Infrastructure Manager/Foreman that is highly motivated and exceptionally talented in the Low Voltage and/or A/V installation trades. In this role you will lead the installation team to ensure the scope of is met while adhering to safety, quality, and code requirements. Work responsibilities will also include reviewing potential job prospects, conducting surveys, developing estimates and maintaining good working relationships with clients, contractors, vendors, and partners.

You know your way around a construction site and can effectively communicate with different stakeholders to keep a project on schedule. You have the conflict resolution skills of a project manager and can maintain a positive working environment – while delivering timely and high-quality results with low voltage or A/V installs.
Basic Job Facts:
This is a full-time position, based in New York City. Frequent local travel throughout the region is expected and required. This is a supervisor role, reporting to the Infrastructure Services Manager.
Compensation and Benefits:
Annual compensation for this position will fall in the range of $70,000 to $90,000 subject to the candidate’s qualifications and experience.

Roles and Responsibilities:
Low Voltage Expertise: Possess an in-depth understanding of low voltage installation practices and procedures and be skilled enough to not only perform work to a high quality standard but also notice and correct the errors of staff or sub-contractors being supervised. Expertise with CAT6, 6a, 8 and fiber optic wiring a must. Working knowledge of EMT, piping, conduits, ladders and so on also required.
Audio-Visual Installs: Be able to oversee installations of projectors, interactive panels, digital signage TVs and simple audio systems. Ensure systems are installed in accordance with CTS standards.
Job Safety: Be responsible for construction Job Safety, OSHA compliance and safety training of the team and other relevant team members at CTS as needed. Familiarity with insurance rules required.
Working with Blueprints: Must be able to read and understand blueprints and perform basic calculations to give needed direction and ensure work is being properly completed. Be able to generate as-built diagrams and documentation using PDF software such as Adobe Acrobat.
Project management: Able to accurately forecast how many workers are needed and how long each project phase will take. Must successfully coordinate multiple tasks according to priorities and plans to keep projects on time and on budget.
Communication skills: Good written and oral communication skills. The IT infrastructure manager/foreman must be able to interact with Customers, members of their crew and superiors. Their writing must clear and detailed for writing daily progress reports that are easy to understand.
Staff Management: Understand “people management” be willing to hire, mentor and coach technicians or contractors to improve skills and build a robust Infrastructure Services team.
Manage while working: You are expected to work alongside their team – be present at job-sites and participate hands-on in the work, while overseeing the work of your team.
Required Skills:
- CAT5e – CAT8 low voltage wiring, testing, terminations, etc.
- Cable testing and certification using tools such as Fluke.
- Fiber optic cable handling, terminations, and testing.
- Hands on familiarity with most types of piping and conduits including EMT, V700, wiremolds, etc.
- Experience building out IT rooms including racks, wire management and ladder systems.
- Familiarity with electric door locks, maglocks and related power systems and technologies.
- Experience installing devices such as WiFi, security cameras, intercoms, speakers, etc.
- Experience with A/V systems like projectors, TVs and IFPs a strong plus. Sound systems a plus.
- Prior experience producing quotes, responding to RFPs and similar sales activities a strong plus.
- Prior experience with recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and terminating employees.
Qualifications
- Must have a vehicle and Valid driver’s license/acceptable driving record
- OSHA 30 certification is required for this role.
- Must know all phases of construction, with experience and proficiency in divisions and scoping of work, methods, materials, scheduling, and cost control of project scope. Understanding of RFQ, RFI and submittals processes and systems. Understanding of AIA billing principles.
- Ability to maintain a current and complete set of project documents, blueprints, revisions, change orders, specifications, submittals and related items.
- Impeccable customer service and communications skills. Ability to diffuse conflicts.
