As an Xray Technologist, provide conscientious patient care while adhering to all quality and safety standards; and perform administrative duties (such as scheduling appointments, patient instructions, and maintenance of records). Perform high-quality images and exams on patients while maintaining sensitivity to patient needs.
Responsibilities:
- Interface with the patient to ascertain medical history and provide instructions and explanation of the procedure and/or exam to obtain the best possible image.
- Review the patient charts to ensure clinical information and/or consent is completed. Screen patients for surgical and other implants, contrast allergies, etc.
- Obtain prior films/exams as needed and perform high-quality scans to submit to the Radiologist for interpretation.
- Perform exams while attending to patient’s care before, during, and following the exam and communicate with the Provider of any changes to the patient’s condition or pertinent information.
- Transfer images to assigned Radiologists and follow up with the report.
- Maintain and regularly inspect equipment and immediately report any quality concerns as well as equipment failures or deficiencies.
- Interface with the Clinical Director of Director of Operations regarding all departmental concerns.
- Demonstrates accountability and maintains strict compliance with patient privacy and confidentiality per HIPAA.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
- Current Radiology Technologist license in the state of Colorado.
- Graduate of accredited School of Radiology Technology.
- Previous work experience as a Radiology Technologist in an Urgent Care setting preferred a plus.
- Maintaining radiology equipment experience, is a plus.
- Knowledge of Medical Terminology is required.
- Proof of current BLS training/education.
- Competence in oral and written communication skills.
- Medical Assistant experience is a plus.
Education/Certifications:
- Graduate of an accredited Registered Technologist program
- Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification
- Current CPR certification
