We are hiring Behavior Technicians/RBTs in Northern Virginia!

Behavioral Directions LLC provides best practice behavioral services to individuals with autism and related disorders using the science of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). Our services are implemented in our clinic (Sterling) and occasionally in home /home settings (Fairfax/Loudoun). This position is clinic-based as part of our positive, dynamic team! We offer ongoing opportunities for development and training, including support to gain certification in ABA (RBT, certification for BCBA). We maintain small caseloads to maximize training of our staff and to benefit those whom we serve. Behavioral Directions is an approved practicum site for the Florida Institute of Technology online training program in Behavior Analysis and we are proud of our 23 years of exceptional service to the local community. Job Responsibilities:
- Direct implementation of behavior analytic services using skill acquisition and behavior intervention programming in clinic setting (option for school, home or community locations to extend training).
- Participation in group teaching activities
- Prepare needed materials before sessions and maintain session materials and program books in a neat and orderly fashion
- Collect accurate behavioral data and update graphs promptly following sessions; proactively respond to insufficient progress by providing suggestions and seeking supervision, and documenting actions taken
- Provide behavioral support to parents and caregivers, commensurate with experience, training and competency as directed by supervisor
- Adhere to strong professionalism and behavior as defined by the BACB’s RBT Ethics Code (2021)
- Maintain orderly and clean office environment, acquire needed supplies, and perform designated administrative duties
Special Skills:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience in education, autism, behavior disorders, developmental disabilities, and Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) – 1 year preferred
- Knowledge of assessments protocols (e.g., VB-MAPP and ABLLS-R) preferred
- Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation and good driving record required. Must pass background check.
- Physical ability to assist with students (e.g., student transports/lifts, quick physical response such as running/standing up for student safety).
Education, Licenses and Certificates:
- Minimum high school diploma or national equivalent. A bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred
- Status as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) or Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analysis (BCaBA) preferred
- BCaBAs will maintain status as a Licensed Assistant Behavior Analyst in the State of Virginia. RBTs will pass an annual RBT Competency Assessment.
