GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
Requires the application of complex technical knowledge to meet Engineering and R&D requirements and solve field, manufacturing and materials selection problems. Day-to-day contact with personnel from other departments to provide consulting guidance concerning materials and processes. Personal contact with customers regarding service problems related to materials of construction or manufacturing processes. Some trips to visit suppliers’ facilities and customers plants.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Perform and/or lead evaluation of new materials and/or processes as part of the company’s R&D program and contract execution inclusive of Enamel QC support, mechanical materials properties review and selections & substitutions per code requirements (ASTM / ASME / ANSI / others).
2. Provide materials and process support for Heat Recovery Products, Heat Recovery Services, Thermal Systems, Offshore Wind, Manufacturing, QC department, Weld Engineering, and CMS groups.
3. Plan and direct our Material Engineering effort including processes such as galvanizing, castings, forging and heat treatments.
4. Conduct metallurgical evaluation of field and manufacturing problems inclusive of macro etching cross-sectional weld joints and support any fatigue testing or other testing & review as required.
5. Prepare materials and processing specifications and support review of contract specifications or Sales quotation requests as required.
Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s Degree in Metallurgical Engineering or related technical field with 7 years of experience or Master’s Degree in Metallurgical Engineering or related technical field with 3 years of experience required. Experience requires a diversified technical background encompassing metallurgy, material science, corrosion, fracture mechanics, and welding.

Pay: $85,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year

Schedule:
