We are hiring an Inventory Coordinator at Midwest Surgical Hospital (MSH), in this role, you will maintain the appropriate supply levels needed for surgical procedures, as well as assist with maintaining medical supplies and materials needed.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain knowledge of surgical cases and physician preferences to plan for and meet current and upcoming inventory needs and/or changes.
- Assist the Surgical Technologists, RN’s and other OR staff in obtaining equipment and supplies for scheduled procedures.
- Coordinate with OR Manager to ensure special supplies/equipment are available for individual cases.
- Ensure all storage areas and all supplies are stocked in an organized manner daily, to protect the integrity of the supplies.
- Ensure that all records are maintained accurately, including processing purchase order requests/sales orders, updating pricing, and receiving supplies in the inventory management software system.
- Process invoices, including three-way matching and entering into the accounts payable portion of inventory management software.
- Accurately document implant information in Perioperative Document of Cerner and complete charges through Charge Reviewer.
- Assist with departmental outdating, inventory and cleaning of storage areas
- Clean and return specialty equipment to the appropriate location.
- Assist with patient transfers, as needed.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED, required.
- 1-3 years’ of related experience in healthcare, required. OR and supply chain experience, preferred.
- Current BLS, required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Pull from job description
- Knowledge of anatomy and operative procedures.
- Knowledge of the basic principles to perform BLS and aware of the policy and procedures in an emergency or cardiac arrest situation within the unit.
- Must have the ability to work quickly and in an orderly fashion.
- Must be able to work well under stress. Must have strong computer skills with proficiency in Excel.
