Are you a hard-working, experienced RN with a heart for seniors? We are looking for you to be our Director of Nursing at a skilled nursing facility in Arlington, Texas. You will help organize and oversee all nursing operations of the facility. You will create a collaborative and efficient workplace with attention to quality standards and policies. There, all personnel will be able to do their best in caring for patients. Being efficient, dedicated, a good listener, and a problem-solver are the 'soft skills' critical to this role. Responsibilities
- Direct, oversee, and evaluate all clinical personnel
- Guide staffing procedures
- In conjunction with the Administrator and corporate Chief Nursing Officer, set objectives and long-term goals for the nursing department
- Organize and coordinate admission, nursing, and patient care procedures
- Help enforce policies aiming for legal compliance and high quality standards
- Control budgets and monitor expenditures
- Resolve issues and deficiencies when needed
- Collaborate with other departments and professionals to streamline operations
- Reports to facility Administrator
Skills/Requirements
- Prior experience in a clinical supervisor position (2 years minimum; 4-6 years preferred)
- Prior experience in a long term care (LTC) facility
- In-depth knowledge of LTC procedures quality metrics
- Understanding of basic budgeting and financial reporting
- Willingness to keep abreast of changing standards in nursing administration
- Excellent ability to lead and develop personnel
- Great communication and people skills
- Aptitude in problem-solving preferred
- Bachelors degree in nursing (required); Master’s degree in nursing or healthcare administration (preferred)
- Current, valid, and unrestricted Texas state RN license (required) and CPR certification (current or within 30 days of hire)
