Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
Logistics
- Oversee productivity of three diverse locations- a Full-Scale Restaurant/Bar, a Take-Away Cafe and a Cocktail Bar. All located in Park Slope, Brooklyn.
- Assist in creating and enforcing company policies that benefit both employees and the company.
- Ensure sales, service, and hospitality goals are met across all assigned restaurant locations through regular on-site presence.
- Oversee logistics and efficiency in all locations, making adjustments as necessary to meet goals in collaboration with the DO.
- Maintain the safety and security of employees, guests, and company assets by developing and implementing compliance systems and procedures.
- Commit to maintaining appropriate staffing levels at all locations, at all times and proactively recruiting as necessary.
Floor Presence, Training & Development
- Spend time in daily operations, leading by example to achieve the highest level of guest satisfaction.
- Fill in for managers during absences and provide additional management support as needed.
- Develop and train managers and oversee training of employees, organize training sessions, motivate staff, and promote a healthy working culture
- Focus on leadership and building rapport with management teams.
- Welcome and provide culture overviews to new hires, summarizing important brand and company information by way of orientations.
- Develop testing and evaluation procedures for new hires across all locations.
- Attend staff meetings, assist leaders with agenda and materials preparation.
Food & Beverage
- Ensure the highest quality of food and beverage in all locations by attending tastings, trainings, and spot-checking during operations.
- Monitor pricing strategies, menu reviews, and tastings over entire company.
- Empower managers to seek guest feedback and make adjustments accordingly.
- Monitor sales numbers per locations/categories.
- Work closely with Executive Chef and Beverage Director to manage food and beverage costs and develop relationships with vendors to ensure best possible pricing plans.
- Train and guide on service standards, adjusting training manuals, and providing constructive feedback.
- Research and suggest methods, products, and services to improve service delivery across all locations
- Regular communication with DO about challenges and changes to policy
- Spot-check and monitor cleanliness and compliance with health department rules- ensuring “A” ratings
Financial
- Maximize financial performance and profit by suggesting/designing promotions and revenue-increasing ideas.
- Ensure that each location meets and exceeds budgeted financial goals.
- Assist in training managers and staff on upselling and building relationships within the neighborhood to boost restaurant exposure and revenue.
- Monitor schedules/payroll to maintain favorable payroll costs.
- Assist in planning and meeting budgeted operational expenditures.
- Assist with analyzing monthly profit and loss statements, developing and implementing plans.
- Oversee purchasing and bi-weekly inventory for FOH operating supplies.
- Utilize technology platforms to develop reports on average sales, covers and various other financial criteria
- Enforce compliance with federal, state, and local laws.
Self-Development
- Maintain current knowledge of global restaurant trends and local restaurant ratings and openings.
- Pursue continuous education, with the company's support, related to job duties.
Additional ResponsibilitiesHR and Team Management
- Assist in recruiting and hiring high-quality employees, including managers.
- Liaise with HR to ensure timely completion of onboarding documentation, payroll information, and other new hire paperwork.
- Reviewing weekly register to ensure accurate staff payroll
- Manage disciplinary actions such as staff coaching, warnings, suspensions, and terminations in conjunction with HR, as needed.
- Oversee daily administrative tasks as required for the position.
- Evaluate managers and service staff consistently, promoting teamwork and a positive work environment.
Qualifications
- 2-4 years of FOH management experience in high-volume restaurant & bar operations.
- Deep knowledge of modern business practices pertaining to restaurants, bars and take-out operations.
- Experience in various FOH roles.
- Strong financial skills and knowledge.
- Proficiency in technology platforms such as Square, Homebase, ADP, Slack and Resy.
- Familiarity with HR topics and laws governing the restaurant industry in New York.
- Dynamic, thorough, independent quick thinker with excellent problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Positive and outgoing team player with open availability, including late nights, holidays, weekends, and long days as necessary.
Compensation Details
Salary: $100,000.00 - $120,000.00
