Valley Lo Club has an immediate opening for a Stong and experienced lead Cook, who is looking to work in a great atmosphere, alongside a committed team. Elegant to casual events, Valley Lo Club hosts multiple charitable functions, weddings, birthday parties, themed parties, and summer day camp lunch.
Primary responsibilities of our Cooks include: Prepare items required for the workstation according to par sheets or instructions from the Sous Chef. Also responsible for the cooking and proper “doneness” and seasoning of all items from the Sauté Station as they appear on the menu and daily specials. Maintains consistency and order on the cooking line. Prepare products assigned to workstation during service.
A High School Diploma or GED is required along with at least six months of related experience and training
- Prepares meats, seafood, vegetables, and other items required for line and special function purposes as assigned.
- Carefully follow the club’s standard recipes when pre-preparing and preparing all items.
- Properly assembles all tools and utensils needed to accomplish job duties.
- Prepares or assists in preparing employee meals.
- Assists with preparation of other food products in other kitchen areas as directed by immediate supervisor.
- Uses food preparation equipment according to manufacturers’ instructions.
- Returns unused food products to proper storage areas.
- Uses safe and sanitary food handling procedures including those relating to personal hygiene.
- Maintains and cleans workstations and equipment.
- Disposes of trash and food-preparation waste at the end of the shift.
- Returns soiled food preparation utensils and other small wares to the proper areas.
- Makes recommendations for the maintenance, repair, and upkeep of the sauté area and equipment.
- Attends staff meetings and offers suggestions for improvements.
- Performs other appropriate tasks assigned by supervisor.
Holidays, nights, and weekend hours to support special events and projects are required.
Valley Lo Club's facilities include a 43,000 sf clubhouse with main dining room and smaller dining venues, plus new outdoor event patio. The Club opened its fitness facility, indoor pool, and locker rooms in 2017. Additional activities include golf, paddle tennis, tennis, boating and fishing on our private 28-acre lake. Over the past 10 years, the Club has undergone a transformation making us a year-round vacation home for its 480-member families.
