Our law firm is seeking candidates to join our busy practice in Historic Downtown McKinney as an Associate Attorney.
Our practice focuses on insurance defense in wrongful death and personal injury lawsuits but also includes some direct representation and the occasional Plaintiff's case. Among the firm's lengthy list of valued clients are three of the four largest automobile insurance companies in the United States, including the single largest property and casualty insurer.
The Associate Attorney position entails direct involvement in all phases of litigation, from initial intake through trial. With assistance from our staff and guidance from our firm's Attorneys and Partners, the new associate will be entrusted with the responsibility to review and analyze claims materials and litigation filings, evaluate and respond to written discovery, monitor and meet litigation deadlines, and prepare client reports. The position will also involve taking and defending depositions, drafting and responding to motions, arguing pretrial hearings, and preparing for and attending jury trials.
Qualified candidates should have solid academics and must have a commitment to providing excellent legal services, an eagerness to learn and develop their litigation skills, and a true desire to practice as a civil trial attorney in North Texas. At least one year of experience as a practicing attorney is required; prior experience in personal injury litigation is a substantial plus.
We offer competitive compensation (commensurate with experience), 401K with employer contribution and profit sharing, a relaxed and supportive firm culture, direct interaction with valued client representatives, and an outstanding opportunity to build your abilities, reputation, and career both inside and outside the courtroom. (The salary range listed in this job posting is a realistic approximation based on the types of candidates we are targeting. The Firm is open to a higher level of compensation in the event an experienced, seasoned insurance defense attorney is prepared to join the firm and immediately undertake a significant workload and bill sufficient hours.)
