Responsibilities
Peraton is seeking a motivated professional to join our team as an experienced
Full Stack Developer. This position is in support of The United States Military Entrance Processing Command, (MEPCOM) program.
Location: Northern Chicago, Illinois and may also support the opportunity via remote/ telework.
In this role, you will:
- Provide T-3 troubleshooting and software development/support for the MIRS 1.1 Application
- Provide expertise and direction in the development and/or modification of computer-based scientific, technical, and business software systems
- Use expertise to design, develop, code, test, and debug software (Ruby on Rails, GraphQL, React).
- Perform design, development, engineering, evaluation, test, configuration management procedures, and statistical analysis and modeling.
- Work as an individual and as part of a team (pairing) when developing code.
- Work with users to define existing or new system scope and objectives.
- Provide analytical support and technical advice during the conceptualization, development, and implementation phases
- Plan and schedule new applications systems projects with user, systems software, and computer center operations personnel, including the identification of objectives, time frames, costs, and manpower requirements.
- Perform tasks necessary to ensure the identification and documentation of hazards within software systems using various analysis tools and techniques.
- Review and evaluate systems and software for adherence to government or commercial directives, standards, guidelines, and criteria concerning software safety and systems safety.
- Confirm that design mitigations are captured in the design and its documentation and verifies implementation.

Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Programming, or related discipline and 10 years of relevant software development experience, or a Masters degree and 8 years of relevant experience, or a PhD with 5 years of relevant expereince. Will consider and additional 4 additional years of experience in lieu of degree.
- Experience with AWS Cloud.
- Experience as a Systems Analyst and software application developer.
- Experience as a Full Stack developer with authoring in database, infrastructure, back-end, and front-end application components.
- Direct, hands-on experience with relational databases, Amazon Web Services orchestration, Ruby on Rails, GraphQL, and React
- Mastery of programming in at least one multi-paradigm (i.e. object-oriented + functional) language.
- Extensive use of unit testing and integration testing strategies, delivered simultaneously with working code.
- The ability to interpret, extend, and author data contracts in both strongly-typed and "duck-typed" exchanges.
- Ability to obtain and maintain IAT Level II certification (CompTIA Security + CE, CCNA Security, SSCP, GSEC) within 60 days of employment.
- Ability to obtain and maintain (AWS Certified Developer, AWS Certified DevOPs Engineer, AWS Cloud Practitioner, AWS Solution Architect) as required
- US citizenship required for this program.
- Must have a recent National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) background investigation and the ability to pass additional background investigations
- Ability to Obtain and Maintain a higher level clearance if required by the customer (i.e. Confidential, Secret, Top Secret)
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or related discipline
- Experience in computer and information system application development, sustainment, maintenance and modernization
- Experience supporting a DoD customer's Information Technology Cloud environment
- Additional current CompTIA or other professional certifications in addition to the basic requirements.
- In-depth knowledge, experience and recent work with modernizing systems and migration of Applications, and Databases to the Cloud. Target Salary Range
$112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
