ARCA is looking to immediately hire a FT RN/LPN to work Wednesday, Thursday, Friday days from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm.
RN Position Function and Scope: Clinical: Assistance with patient assessment, limit setting, crisis intervention, medication administration, contributing to treatment planning, transcription of physician orders and collections of specimens. Communications with referral and payment sources concerning client status and appropriateness of care. These duties are performed in a manner consistent with accepted standards of practice set by NC Board of Nursing. Management: Coordinate staffing and overall functioning of the unit. Duties include client record reviews for completion and quality, monitor medications and other supplies to maintain adequate inventory and report same to Nurse Manager. Typical Qualifications and Experience: · Graduation from an accredited school of nursing· Unrestricted LPN license by the NC Board of Nursing · Strong oral and written communication skills · Good therapeutic communication skills · Knowledge of substance abuse and psychiatric disorders · Knowledge of relevant standards and laws, including federal confidentiality for substance abuse clients law Description of Duties: · Assist with nursing assessment · Performs clinical withdrawal scales· Administers medication per physician orders · Collects specimens · Measures and monitors vital signs · Transcribes physician orders · Assists in developing and implementing treatment plans · Sets therapeutic limits for clients · Documents in the client record · Assists with and reinforces medication education · Obtains or provides substitute staffing on an emergency basis · Conducts infection control and safety activities · Performs quality improvement tasks· Responsible for client record reviews · Monitors withdrawal symptoms · Oversees CNAs and Health Care Techs in doing patient belongings inventories on admission and discharge, storage of personal items, room cleaning at patient discharge, therapeutic chores, patient orientation and nursing desk/ telephone activities. · As shift charge nurse: supervises LPNs and non-licensed personnel, makes patient care assignments, patient bed assignments and decides when to call the physician or RN. · Other duties as assigned necessary for the smooth operation of ARCA, Inc. within the scope of practice for the licensed nursing professional.· Screen proposed referrals for admission according to admission criteria and ARCA policies and procedures.

Other Requirements: Must be mobile able to move within and between work sites. Must have the ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Requires bending, reaching, lifting, stooping, ability to lift 25 pounds and hand/arm motion.
