We're looking for a Line Cook to work with our team to prepare food in the kitchen over a high heat and under pressure to meet the needs of our guests. The successful candidate will demonstrate a passion for food prep, have experience (but not necessary) working with Itilain food and strong customer service skills. A successful Line Cook will have a background in food preparation and be capable of taking direction well, multi-tasking effectively and staying organized.
Provide 100% Guest Delight by preparing food to recipe and ensuring piping hot food is delivered to guests. Prepare line items according to guest orders in an efficient and timely manner to meet time standards. Maintain safety and sanitation standards to ensure guest and team member safety. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Treats all guests, team members and managers with dignity, respect and caring Displays a helpful, friendly and approachable attitude towards guests, team members and managers Consistently follows and supports Olive Garden’s systems, policies and procedures Consistently arrives to work on time and ready for shift; is neat, clean and well groomed, according to Olive Garden appearance standards Practices teamwork by communicating with and assisting others to ensure a great guest and team member experience Adheres to and practices all food safety and sanitation standards, local (or applicable) laws and Olive Garden guidelines Uses equipment and performs tasks safely as directed Displays the ability to work on multiple tasks at once and maintains a calm demeanor during stressful situations Displays knowledge of recipes by preparing quality food to the correct specifications quickly and efficiently Prepares correct amount of each item as indicated on the guest order Completes appropriate HACCP forms Displays a sense of urgency when preparing line items to meet time standards Properly stocks, stores and rotates food product on the line according to health standards and Olive Garden standards; labels and dates products according to standards Assists in maintaining clean, dry kitchen floors Empties trash by taking it to the dumpster to ensure a clean restaurant for guests and team members Cleans areas of the restaurant and equipment according to Olive Garden standards as assigned by management ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Performs duties that require bending, lifting, reaching, twisting, and transporting items (weighing up to 50 pounds) Works by standing and by moving in small and crowded spaces up to 8 hours or longer if needed. Able to work in high temperatures for extended periods of time.
