Job Summary:
We are seeking a passionate and dynamic K-12 Physical Education Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to promoting physical fitness, healthy habits, and lifelong wellness among students from kindergarten through high school. The Physical Education Teacher will design and implement a comprehensive physical education curriculum, lead engaging activities, and assess students' progress to ensure their physical development and well-being.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement age-appropriate physical education curriculum aligned standards and educational goals.
- Plan and conduct engaging physical education classes for students in kindergarten through twelfth grade.
- Instruct students in various sports, games, exercises, and activities to promote physical fitness, coordination, and teamwork.
- Demonstrate and teach proper techniques, safety procedures, and sportsmanship during physical activities.
- Incorporate health education topics such as nutrition, hygiene, and wellness into lesson plans.
- Utilize a variety of teaching methods and resources to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages active participation and mutual respect among students.
- Supervise students during physical education classes, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
- Assess students' physical abilities, skills, and progress through regular evaluations and performance assessments.
- Provide feedback to students, parents, and school administration regarding students' progress and areas for improvement.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in physical education instruction, curriculum development, and assessment strategies.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, student performance, and equipment inventory.
Qualifications:
- Prefer Bachelor's degree or licensing in Physical Education, Kinesiology, Exercise Science, or a related field.
- Previous experience teaching students of varying ages and ability levels.
- Strong knowledge of child development, anatomy, physiology, and exercise science principles.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to motivate and inspire students to adopt healthy lifestyle habits and lifelong physical fitness.
- Demonstrated leadership, teamwork, and collaboration skills.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move continuously throughout the day.
- Capable of lifting and carrying sports equipment and materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Stamina and endurance to participate in physical activities alongside students.
