TITLE: Lottery Drawing Associate (per diem)
HOURLY RANGE: $40.00 - $60.00 (based on shift & assignment)
The Connecticut Lottery Corporation (CLC), headquartered in Wallingford, CT is a quasi-public agency of the State of Connecticut. The CLC is currently accepting applications for Lottery Drawing Associate (LDA) opportunities for its midday drawings with possible opportunities for weekend and/or evening drawings. Candidates must possess public speaking ability, preferably with broadcast or entertainment experience. Candidates must also be reliable and precise while adhering to detailed procedures. Applicants are encouraged to become familiar with the format by watching telecasts in advance of applying for the position.
All drawings are held at our new studio at CLC headquarters in Wallingford. Midday drawings are executed at approximately 2:00 pm, Monday through Sunday and evening drawings are executed at approximately 10:30 pm. Drawings are held regardless of weather or transportation conditions and include holidays. Lottery Drawing Associates are scheduled for in-studio assignments, requiring a time commitment from 12:30 pm to approximately 2:30 pm for a midday shift, and 8:30 pm to approximately 11:30 pm for a night drawing. On-call backup assignments are also required i.e., for every scheduled in-studio shift, you will be scheduled a backup shift. While there is schedule flexibility, LDA’s are expected to meet the obligations of their assignments.
Lottery Drawing Associates are “per diem” employees. Payment is only made for scheduled assignments worked. Each full assignment includes one shift and one backup. Failure to work on both assignments may result in zero payment. There is no presumption of permanent status, or rights to any benefits while in this position. Successful candidates must be willing to undertake necessary tasks to assure the integrity and professional presentation of each drawing. Additional tasks include, but are not limited to lifting/moving equipment, wearing appropriate attire, completion of documentation, completing training sessions, appearing on camera, ball weighing sessions and completing technical tasks.
