Accountant/Grant Manager
The Western New York Law Center, Inc. (WNYLC) is seeking a full time Accountant/Grants Manager to manage the day-to-day accounting activities of the organization. The position is responsible for adherence to accounting principles, organizational policies and procedures, and will manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, grant and organizational budgets, and grant allocations using QuickBooks Online and Salesforce. This position will report to the Executive Director and help determine best practices related to fiscal procedures.
Essential Job Duties:
- Assist with the preparation of operating budgets, financial statements, and reports in accordance with multiple funding sources and requirements.
- Manage account records, issue invoices and handle payments in a timely manner.
- Review existing financial policies and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Keep records and document financial processes in accordance with state, federal, and local agency policy.
- Maintain finance policy and procedures manual.
- Coordinate annual audit and submission of Form 990 and Char-500; and
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Understanding of grant accounting using QuickBooks or equivalent experience with for-profit job costing procedures.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
- Strong collaboration, cooperation and interpersonal skills within a diverse organization serving diverse populations.
- Bachelor's degree preferred, master's degree in accounting, business, public administration, or related field strongly preferred.
