Scope:
The Warehouse Clerk maintains and retrieves information from various computer software systems and performs shipping/EDI/clerical functions.
Responsibility and Authority:
- Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Assure compliance to all required industry standards and government requirements as stated in the Ideal-Tridon Quality Manual, Quality Management System, process documentation and all Company Human Resources, Health, Safety, and Environmental guidelines to ensure customer requirements are met.
- While operating a fork lift, the operator has the responsibility and authority to remove the equipment from service in accordance with EHS-20-0042. Notification will be made to the Maintenance Department.
- While operating an order picker, the operator has the responsibility and authority to adhere to the Ideal-Tridon Fall Protection guidelines found in EHS-20-0023.
- Responsibility and authority to shutdown machine operation when quality, safety, or environmental issue arise. The operator will notify the supervisor, lead, or other appropriate manager.
- Has the responsibility and authority to ship the correct product to customers, and to stop shipments that are not the intended product for that customer.
- All Distribution Center personnel have the responsibility and authority to follow Ship Op Sheet and Pick Ticket customer requirements.
- Maintain and protect all company, supplier, and customer proprietary and confidential information.
Essential Functions:
- Perform all requirements of information exchange as directed by O.E. customers, specifically advance shipping notices and the use of Future III software. Must be proficient in problem identification and resolution while using these systems. Will coordinate and communicate resources in Customer Service, IT support and customers in the event of abnormal situations involving communication breakdown.
- FORK TRUCK OPERATION: Industrial equipment training. Operator pre-shift checklist. Reach truck operation. Order picker operation. Counter balance (dock stocker) operation. Battery changer operation. LP gas sit down counter balance operation. LP gas precautions and safety.
- EDI –Future III Functions: Performs all requirements of information exchange as directed by O.E. customers, specifically advance shipping notices and the use of Future III software. Must be proficient in problem identification and resolution while using these systems. Must be able to coordinate resources in Customer Ser vice, IT support and customers in the event of abnormal situations involving communication breakdown. Schedules / Confirms shipments online for OE Future III and other EDI customer accounts. Performs data entry consisting of: All stock ticket type transactions, data entry for and to create packing slips, bills of lading, custom documents, reports, shippers. Must insure extreme accuracy.Issue material certification documents dictated by customer demand. Decide and select picking tickets, shippers using allocation reports and load sheets in conjunction with Future III and other software systems. Extreme accuracy required. Transmit ASN's using mainframe terminals and/or PC terminals on a timely basis consistent with freight carriers. Verify and print bills of lading and custom documents dictated by customer demands. Perform daily billing of customer orders; break down of paper work and distribution of paper work. Will possess capability of performing all shipping/warehouse functions
- Ensure compliance to the Quality Management System and Environmental Management System.
- When necessary may perform other typical duties.
Position Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent education and experience.
- Minimum one year of warehouse experience, previous experience in very accurately performing EDI, AS400, and ASN functions or possess other relevant experience and skills.
- Must be capable of very accurately performing high volume data entry/keyboarding in a fast paced environment.
- Must be capable of multi-tasking handling all duties noted above in addition to utilizing personal computers and internet driven Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) software and customer portals as well as Microsoft Word and Excel software.
- Use standard office equipment (e.g., computer, calculator).
- Warehouse equipment including: electric order picker, electric Reach Truck, Order Picker, RF scan gun, shipping and strapping equipment.
- Strong ability to follow written procedures.
- Be able to work in a fast paced environment where accuracy and attention to detail are critical to success in the job.
Physical Requirements:
- Utilize both hands and arms to drive forklift.
- Adequate vision is required to drive forklift equipment and read instructions.
- Will occasionally lift weights up to 50 pounds is required.
- Perform in a sitting position while keypunching continually.
- Safely lift in conjunction with, bending, twisting, grasping, reaching, stooping and trunk turning motions.
- Periods of continuous standing, walking and stooping are required.
- Understand both verbal and written instruction in English.
