Barren River District Health Department has an opening for a full-time Public Health HANDS Specialist Grade 14; to work at the Warren County Health Department. The minimum hourly rate is $17.04. The minimum requirement is a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Nursing, Early Childhood Education or a Bachelor’s degree in a Human Services or closely related field. An Associate’s Degree in Nursing with licensure in Kentucky or compact state and two (2) years of public health experience will substitute for the required education. Applicants must meet education requirements set forth in 902 KAR 4:120, with a preference for a bachelor’s in social work. Preference will also be given to applicants that are bi-lingual. Duties include conducting social assessments in the clinic and home setting, determining the eligibility for the HANDS program, providing families with child development and parenting information, and linking families to community resources. This position will also be responsible for completing various forms, monthly reports, and documentation of case records. Other duties as assigned. Applicants must have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license. Travel will be required to other counties as needed after orientation and training is complete.
