Summary:
The General Manager is responsible for leading and developing a high-performing team that consistently delivers top-line sales growth. The General Manager will oversee all aspects of the day-to-day operations at our three retail smoke shops in Pittsburgh. We are seeking an individual that is truly passionate about the industry and interested in growing with our company long term. Responsible for ensuring that store functions are completed efficiently including but not limited to: ordering, receiving, stocking, employee management, training, cash handling, enhancing customer experience, and increasing sales.
Job Requirements:
- Must have 2+ years of retail experience in a leadership position
- Must have management experience
- Must have reliable transportation to travel to all retail locations, as needed (Brentwood, Dormont, Shadyside)
- Must be passionate about the industry
- Must have an understanding of all retail operations
- Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- Must have the ability to coach, train and motivate employees
- Must have ability to multi-task

- Must have excellent customer service skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds and frequently position self to kneel, bend, twist, and stoop
- Must be able to occasionally ascend/descend ladders in order to retrieve and put away stock
- Must have good computer skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Shopkeep, preferred
- Flexibility to occasionally work weekends and evenings to cover shifts, as needed
Some duties of the General Manager include:
- Oversee all store operations
- Maintain top quality customer service standards
- Drives overall profitability for stores focusing on total store sales and expense control
- Manage a team of ~6 employees, resolve conflict, communicate goals/objectives efficiently, and hold all associates accountable for their job responsibilities
- Hire and train new employees and ensure all employees comply with company policies
- Manage scheduling adjustments, call/request offs, and fill in at stores, as needed
- Lead weekly and monthly inventory with employees
- Plan and manage store sales and promotions
- Package and ship website orders
- Order products and work with a budget to maximize sales
- Process incoming orders, barcode, and distribute to all stores
- Delegate responsibilities to employees (such as restocking and reorganizing shelves)
- Responsible for ensuring the proper execution of all cash handling policies including opening and closing procedures and collecting cash from stores
- Some general financial tracking regarding sales/ordering
- Staying up to date with tobacco compliance laws at state and federal level
- Staying up to date on industry trends to increase sales and encourage customer growth
- Support Owner with other day-to-day tasks, as needed
