Description of Position
This particular Associate Attorney position, which involves extensive intake meetings with the firm’s many potential clients, requires an individual with a unique set of skills. An attorney with prior sales experience would do very well here. This attorney must not only be competent at thinking on his or her feet, but must also be articulate and adept at developing an initial case strategy upon first hearing the facts of a case.
Our attorneys have extensive direct client contact, and are substantively involved in all aspects of our clients’ cases. There is no “project” work involved.
Responsibilities
- Meet with a variety of the firm’s potential clients to provide advice, educate them on their legal options, and where applicable, sell them on the firm.
- Advise and counsel the firm’s clients throughout the entirety of their cases.
- Prepare all manner of correspondence to opposing parties, counsel, mediators, and other parties.
- Conduct legal research and prepare motions, pleadings, and briefs.
- Prepare for and attend mediations.
- Counsel clients during settlement negotiations, and where applicable, prepare settlement documents.
- Assist senior attorneys in preparing for trials.
- (If you desire) attend court hearings on behalf of clients.
- (If you desire) conduct/defend depositions.
Qualifications
- 2-5 years working as an associate attorney.
- You must be personable, articulate, and fast on your feet.
- Prior sales experience a plus.
Compensation
- $120,000 to $170,000, depending on experience.
- Eligible to earn monthly bonuses of between $1,500 and $5,000.
Job Location
- This is a hybrid position, meaning that for part of the week, the attorney must work in the Aliso Viejo office, while at other times, the attorney may work remotely.
