Position Overview:
As a Sterilization Technician at Precision Family Dental, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and hygiene standards of our dental practice. You will be an integral part of supporting our clinical team by managing the sterilization and maintenance of dental instruments and equipment. This position requires meticulous attention to detail, adherence to strict sterilization protocols, and effective communication with team members to ensure the smooth operation of our practice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sterilization Protocol Adherence:
- Follow established sterilization procedures and protocols to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and infection control guidelines.
- Properly clean, disinfect, and sterilize dental instruments, equipment, and supplies using autoclaves and other sterilization techniques.
- Monitor and record sterilization parameters such as time, temperature, and pressure to maintain accurate sterilization records.
- Instrument Maintenance:
- Inspect, assemble, and package dental instruments and equipment for sterilization.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of sterilization equipment to ensure proper functioning.
- Inventory Management:
- Maintain inventory levels of sterilization supplies and equipment and reorder as necessary.
- Monitor expiration dates of sterilization materials and ensure timely replacement.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with dental assistants, hygienists, and other clinical team members to support efficient patient care delivery.
- Communicate effectively with team members regarding sterilization needs, equipment maintenance issues, and inventory management.
- Quality Assurance:
- Participate in quality assurance activities such as routine inspections and audits to ensure compliance with sterilization and infection control standards.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute to the development of best practices.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional training or certification in sterilization techniques preferred.
- Previous experience in a dental or medical setting preferred.
- Knowledge of infection control protocols and sterilization techniques.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
