- FINANCIAL: support and participate in programs and processes which align with system financial initiatives
- NURSING ENGAGEMENT AND DEVELOPMENT: support and facilitate program initiatives which promote nursing engagement and professional development. Primary objective to reduce turnover, facilitate top of license performance, encourage engagement of front line clinicians in the best practices initiatives
- PATIENT SATISFACTION AND CUSTOMER ENGAGEMENT: support programs that assure patient satisfaction, identify opportunities for process improvement and align with service line development
- Special Projects Coordinator is responsible for coordinating, facilitating and monitoring the development, planning and implementation of special projects and various activities involving the department of Nursing. The coordinator is responsible for directing team members, assigning tasks, scheduling meetings and monitoring progress until project completion. The coordinator must possess both the skills and knowledge of clinical practice, standards of nursing practice and organizational goals in order to effectively manage tasks. The coordinator is able to conduct research that is based on evidence, national guidelines, best-practices and regulatory standards.
- SPECIAL PROJECTS: Coordinates or completes special projects or initiatives. Communicates information in a clear, concise professional manner, in both oral and written formats.
- Assist in budget development.
- Assist in Complaint and Grievance Management.
- Assist in implementation of process change, to include program development, staff education, accountability rounds.
- Assist in Root Cause Analysis, Failure Mode and Effect projects to support continued pursuit of patient safe environment.
- Assist in Staffing Coordination: align with unit staffing metrics while minimizing overtime.
- Departmental Rounding.
- Development of job standards and support of performance evaluation.
- May serve in the role of Nursing Supervisor.
- Participates in accreditation initiatives.
- Patient and family rounding.
- Policy review and development which ensures alignment with regulatory requirement and evidence based practice.
