The Dietary Cook is responsible for preparing, serving, and handling food in accordance with county regulations and the residence policies and procedures. Maintain clean and sanitized dining service areas and assist in the receiving, rotation, and storage of products.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Prepare menus and cook food in accordance with nutritional guidelines, National School lunch program guidelines and residents’ individual prescribed diet and food preferences.
- Present food in an appetizing and attractive manner.
- Ensure that food is ready for service and/or delivery at the specified time each day.
- Prepare food and coordinate food service for special events as requested.
- Encourage Students to participate in the food service program and provide a forum for their input.
- Have knowledge of operation of kitchen appliances.
- Notify food services director of any malfunctioning kitchen equipment or appliances.
- Daily cleaning of all kitchen equipment and dining room.
- Be available to work rotating weekends with 5-day work week schedule. Also available to work Holidays.
- Take daily temperatures of coolers, freezers and stock rooms.
40 hour work week plus benefits package'
