Financial Analyst
The Financial Analyst role at Couto Homes serves as the finance partner to our Finance Director, finance mentor to our operations and sales team and business lead for finance reporting and lot/home closings. Working with our Director of Finance, they assist in the prepare the:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Build, manage and maintain detailed financial models to support key strategic decisions and overall company forecasting
- Analyze business performance to communicate results and impact business decisions
- Proactively seek to improve the accuracy and predictability of the Company’s financial results.
- Source data and prepare various consolidated weekly/monthly reporting of performance across company.
- Maintain up-do-date understanding of the homebuilding industry and financial instruments, market conditions, and trends
- Daily communicate with lenders, sales team, home buyers, and others, as needed
- Drive the closing process, for land acquisition and home closings, ensuring all pieces for close of escrow are completed in a timely manner to meet closing goals.
- Work with department managers to review quarterly bonus payouts in a for accuracy and consistency with documented bonus programs.
Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university in Finance and/or Accounting.
- Minimum 2-3 years’ progressive experience in finance, financial planning, and analysis and/or accounting. Construction field or home building field a plus.
- Outstanding analytical skills, oral and written communication skills, and presentation ability.
- Superb organizational skills and exceptionally detailed-oriented.
- Able to prioritize tasks and work under pressure when meeting deadlines.
- Proficiency with the latest computer technology and advanced understanding of and ability to operate in Excel, PowerPoint and QuickBooks (or equivalent Accounting software).
- Proven experience in analyzing, building, and maintaining financial models and reporting financial performance.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Experience with new home or commercial construction preferred.
- Ability to connect with people, and develop and maintain professional relationships.
- Construction field or home building field a plus.
