The Maintenance Generalist performs routine general maintenance and repairs of buildings, apartments, and homes, and equipment and utility systems; performs scheduled maintenance checks and works on special projects as assigned.
This position is full time with a week-to-week on call rotation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs routine maintenance duties to complete all service requests for repair and maintenance of all grounds, and equipment in a timely and cost-efficient manner.
- Implements facility maintenance policies and procedures in an efficient, cost-effective manner to safely meet residents' needs in compliance with federal, state and local requirements.
- Must be available to repond to emergency calls.
- Assists with the development and execution of preventative maintenance programs.
- Communicates with Director of Maintenance for technical advice, product information, research and quality assurance guidance.
- Advises Director of Maintenance of the overall condition of the equipment and furnishings of the community in a timely manner and follows through on necessary repairs or actions.
- Assists with Fire Safety and Disaster Preparedness Evacuation procedures.
- Interacts with residents and staff in a courteous and friendly manner.
- General housekeeping duties as needed.

- Must have knowledge of life safety codes
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) check will be run
- Must express or demonstrate an interest in working with a senior population.
- Must be capable of reading and writing in the English language.
- Must demonstrate a warm, outgoing personality.
- Must have basic technical knowledge, plumbing, and mechanical ability to perform routine maintenance and repair on mechanical, plumbing, electrical equipment, HVAC and possess a basic knowledge of construction principles.
- Broad vocational and work experience training background.
- Possess knowledge of general maintenance, such as: boilers, heating and air conditioning units, refrigerators, freezers, electrical wiring, plumbing etc.
- Motor vehicle records check.

Pay: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour
