The Orthopedic & Sports Institute (OSI) is seeking a full time (40 hours per week) certified professional Medical Coder (CCS or CPC) The successful candidate will be dedicated to provide detailed medical coding for a busy orthopedic practice.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Abstract provider documentation to assign correct ICD 10 and CPT codes for E&M, radiology, injections, MRIs and surgeries

Keep up to date and current CPT, and individual insurance company guidelines, as well as orthopedic coding guidelines

Examine claims for accuracy and compliance per all billing and coding guidelines

Educate and train providers and clinical staff on guidelines and clinical documentation requirements, annually or as needed

Routinely communicate (written and verbal) with insurance providers regarding submitted claims

Work on a weekly basis to overturn claim denials with various types of appeals
Qualifications and Skills:

5 years experience orthopedic coding preferred

medical billing experience preferred

Knowledge of orthopedic anatomy

eCW experience desired but not mandatory
