Job Description:
The Senior Mechanical Engineer at AGI leads a team in designing mechanical systems that emphasize robust, common-sense design, long life, low maintenance, and reliability. As the Engineer of Record or Project Manager, you will oversee the development of all project documents, ensuring adherence to project requirements and AGI’s standards for quality.
In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating with internal and external consultants, scheduling manpower for assignments, managing project costs, and maintaining client relationships. You will ensure all drawings are prepared with accuracy, neatness, and speed, including work prepared by others. You will also estimate time needed to complete assignments and manage your time effectively to meet project requirements.
Roles and Responsibilities:
· Work in cross functional R&D teams to design, prototype, test, and manufacture new designs as well as improvements to existing designs.
· Investigate and determine root causes of both latent and emerging design issues.
· Collaborate with Failure Analysis teams to identify and resolve field failures.
· Partner with Supplier Engineering to ensure supplier and material continuity.
· Work closely with Manufacturing teams on building new products.
Job Requirements:
· 10+ years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer delivering complete mechanical designs and documentation.
· Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) or equivalent work experience. A Master's degree is nice to have but not required.
· Proven time management skills including setting goals, prioritizing tasks, estimating hours, and completing tasks on time.
· Proficiency in SolidWorks, MathCAD, and AutoCAD for all levels of document development.
· Experience in the robotics industry is a strong plus.
· Familiarity with all phases of the product development lifecycle, including design, implementation, debugging, verification, qualification, and transfer to Manufacturing.
· Hands on engineering experience with a proven ability to work well in a team environment.
· Experience setting up experiments and selecting and using measurement and test equipment.
· Strong understanding of component selection criteria and design for reliability and manufacturability.
· Proficient in Finite Element Analysis.
· Strong background in analysis using traditional hand calculations for strength of materials, power transmissions, statics, and dynamics.
· Experience in electrical systems design and control.
· Proficient in the design of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
· Proven experience in a fast paced, high transaction environment.
· Good presentation skills and comfortable with hosting design reviews.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
