In this role, your main focus will be on designing, crafting, and overseeing the 3D components and assemblies of boats. Additionally, you'll be tasked with creating 2D drawings for these components, assemblies, and specifications, along with managing bills of material. Primary Responsibilities for the Product Design Engineer - Recreational Outdoor Industry - Solidworks Experience:
- Collaborate within a multifunctional team to design, craft, and oversee 3D models of boats, components, and assemblies.
- Generate precise drawings for parts, assemblies, and installations.
- Manage engineering bills of material to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Drive revisions of current parts and drawings, and manage revision notices using our New Base system.
- Liaise with vendors to coordinate the development of new parts, components, and assemblies.
- Maintain development schedules to meet project milestones.
- Conduct thorough cost analyses to uphold quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery.
- Coordinate closely with our R&D department to ensure the quality construction and testing of prototypes.
- Undertake additional job-related tasks as required.
Minimum Qualifications for the Product Design Engineer - Recreational Outdoor Industry - Solidworks Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
- 3 - 5 years of hands-on experience with SolidWorks CAD software; proficiency in Surface Modeling and SolidWorks Simulation is advantageous.
- 3 - 5 years of project management experience.
- Proficiency in geometry, 3D surfaces, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), and blueprint reading.
- Familiarity with FRP (fiberglass) is desirable.
- Ability to comprehend and interpret technical information, policies, and regulations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to articulate complex procedures and reports.
- Capable of effectively presenting information and engaging with stakeholders at all organizational levels and supplier representatives.
- Exceptional team player with a collaborative mindset.
- SolidWorks Professional Certificate holder or the ability to obtain certification within 2 years.
