Senior Heating and Air Conditioning Service Technician and Installer Position Summary: is a seasoned and trained professional who installs, repairs, and maintains various residential air quality systems. This role requires a blend of technical proficiency, problem-solving abilities, and customer service skills. Their main duties include locating and diagnosing maintenance problems on equipment, installing new equipment, conducting services, and quickly performing emergency repairs on certain equipment items. The technician ensures these systems function optimally, providing comfortable, safe, and efficient environments for living and working.
As a Senior Heating and Air Conditioning Service Technician and Installer, you will be responsible for:
- Installing, maintaining, and repairing ventilation and air conditioning systems and equipment
- Addressing mechanical issues with HVAC systems
- System maintenance tasks like cleaning, adjusting, repairs, and performing warranty services
- Locating and diagnosing maintenance problems on equipment
- Conducting warranty services and quickly performing emergency repairs on certain equipment items
- Ordering and maintaining equipment
- Meeting local HVAC codes
- Determining the needs of the client
- Keeping daily logs and records of all maintenance functions
- Communicating with clients and customers
- Meeting local HVAC codes
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- High school diploma, GED, HVAC technical degree, or suitable equivalent
- 3-5+ years experience as an HVAC technician, and willingness to continue education in the HVAC field
- Valid driver’s license
- Technical Proficiency: You should have a thorough understanding of HVAC systems, including heating, ventilation, and air conditioning. You should also be proficient with equipment like furnaces, mini splits, and heat pumps.
- Problem-Solving Abilities: HVAC technicians often encounter various issues that require effective problem-solving skills
- Physical Strength and Stamina: The job can be physically demanding, requiring you to work in cramped spaces and lift heavy equipment
- Effective Communication Skills: You should be able to explain complex HVAC concepts in clear, concise language to customers
- Mechanical Skills: You should be comfortable using hand tools, ladders, and other mechanical equipment
- Time Management Skills: You should be able to manage your time effectively to complete tasks within the given timeframe
- Safety Procedures: Understanding and following safety procedures is crucial in this role
- Customer Service Skills: You should be able to handle customer queries and complaints professionally
- Continual Learning: The HVAC industry is always evolving, so you should be open to learning new technologies and techniques
Working Conditions:
The job’s function is a warehouse and field based position. Position is a full time position with a seasonal demand of potentially extended hours.
Job Types: Full-time Hourly with overtime pay
Salary: Starting from $40+ per hour. Pay commensurate with experience and skill level.
