Techno is seeking an Instrumentation Control Inspector to join our dynamic Design Construction team in the Washington DC area. The successful candidate will have exceptional communication and technical writing abilities, adept team support skills, and familiarity with state construction and fire codes.
Job Description:
- Follow safety guidelines, participate in pre-task planning, and report any safety issues or concerns to management.
- Perform outdoor, all-season field tasks.
- Develop field and engineering reports and logs, maintaining comprehensive logs.
- Document inspection findings, maintain organized records, and prepare detailed reports.
- Performs first-line diagnostics, troubleshooting and repairing of equipment at the major assembly level to the component level. Designs, installs, and provides technical support in process control and operational systems.
- Serves as system control and engineering technician liaison with staff, consultants, and contractors.
- Ensure adherence to regulatory standards, building codes, and safety protocols.
- Evaluate technical documents, blueprints, and schematics, ensuring understanding of specifications.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, with potential for overtime and weekend assignments.
Requirements:
- 5-10 years of experience within a similar role in the construction industry.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with builders, contractors, and regulatory bodies.
- Previous experience in water/wastewater industry maintenance.
- Experience with the DC Water is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Possession of valid professional certifications certification (CCST II or NICET III) will be viewed as highly beneficial.
- Knowledge and ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, process control schematics, Process and Instruments Diagrams (P&ID), and ladder logic drawings.
- Demonstrated ability to use a wide variety of electric/electronic test equipment and computers to diagnose and correct equipment and process control system problems.
- Ability to perform field tasks and activities.
- Self-driven individual with a strong sense of motivation.
