As part of our growth, we are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Clerk to join our dynamic team.
The Payroll Clerk is responsible for collecting time keeping information, review it for accuracy and make necessary corrections to ensure that the bi-weekly payroll reflects correct hours paid for all employees. This includes verifying the amount of time worked by hourly and salaried employees, and any information regarding personal time off claimed for a given period.
WHAT YOU'LL YOU DO
- To process, review and correct punches from electronic time clocks and review the downloaded information for completeness and accuracy.
- Maintain payroll information by collecting payroll date from sheet and other records, calculating, and entering data into payroll system.
- Execute time sheets and attendance processing and interface with payroll systems.
- Reviews timesheets, wage computation, and other information in order to reconcile payroll discrepancies.
- Contact various department supervisors and gas station managers for any issues pertaining to schedules.
- Inputs and updates payroll records by entering employee’s information, charges in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings, deductions, job titles and departments on payroll system.
- Verifies attendance, hours worked, and pay adjustments, and post information on designation records
- Prepare, maintain & track related-payroll records and reports.
- File in the electronic filing system station employees’ schedules.
- Processes wage garnishment and withholdings orders via payroll system timely
- Manages work flow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely.
- Reviews and distributes W-2 forms.
- Review GL Codes for all companies.
- Manage work flow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely.
- Accomplishes all tasks as appropriately assigned or requested.
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU
- High School Diploma is required, Associate degree from an U.S. accredited Community College is preferred.
- 2-3 years of payroll experience for a multi-operation retail company.
- Solid understanding of payroll and payroll tax laws a must.
- Must have skills in accuracy and attention to detail, including timely follow-up in expediting exceptions
- Must be able to multi-task in fast-pace environment.
- Work well in a team environment as well as individually.
- Ability to maintain confidential information.
- Basic level of working experience in Excel, Word, and Outlook applications.
- Effective interpersonal and communications skills.
