Mo Mi Mei is an exciting, unique fast-casual restaurant concept established in Costa Mesa, California. Inspired by our Chinese heritage, we specialize in steamed rice rolls that are freshly prepared in-house with locally sourced organic ingredients. Our mission is to transform a traditional favorite into a simple dish filled with a bold fusion of flavors and share it with our community.
Overview
We are constantly seeking motivated, enthusiastic candidates with a diverse range of abilities to enhance our team. These individuals will have the ability to deliver an amazing Mo Mi Mei experience from the moment a guest enters through our doors and exercises their communication skills at all times. They will have an interest in learning and teaching what we offer and can demonstrate their knowledge when asked by guests. They will promote a clean working environment by performing proper handwashing when preparing and assembling food along with maintaining facilities and equipment daily. They will also uphold all recipes and procedures to create and maintain a consistent, quality product and embrace any feedback to improve their performance. Qualifications
- Previous professional experience in food or restaurant service is valuable but not required
- Familiarity with cash handling and POS (Point of Sale) systems is valuable but not required
- Knowledge of common food safety practices and procedures is valuable but not required
- Ability to provide proof of identity and employment authorization through Form I-9 Acceptable Documents and CDE Form B1-4 Permit to Employ and Work (for persons under age 18 only)
- Ability to obtain ServSafe Food Handler certification and ASTM standard slip-resistant footwear
Responsibilities
The ideal FOH (Front of House) candidate will adhere to the following:
- Actively promote a positive, inviting atmosphere and consistently engage in enthusiastic conversation with guests and other team members when appropriate
- Upsell any featured items, seasonal offerings, and other applicable promotions along with side dishes, bottled drinks and other available inventory
- Record orders into the POS (Point of Sale) efficiently and repeat each item back to guests to ensure accuracy and avoid miscommunication
- Create each individual order with accuracy and efficiency while following all recipes, portion sizes, and procedures to ensure consistent product for guests
- Perform dining area maintenance, table touches, offer refills, and dispose of trash for guests when necessary
- Operate with a sense of urgency and will also initiate tasks that must be completed without direction when necessary
- Maintain a clean working environment and must take the necessary time and procedures to ensure all facilities and equipment are in compliance
The ideal BOH (Back of House) candidate will adhere to the following:
- Follow all recipes and procedures to ensure consistent, quality product to serve to our guests at all times
- Ensure the safety of our food by recording hot and cold holding temperatures throughout the shift and will follow the necessary corrective actions when violations are observed
- Ensure that dishes and other equipment are properly cleaned, rinsed, and sanitized in each respective compartment sink
- Ensure that any chemicals are used with caution and are properly stored in its designated area
- Ensure that food containers are properly covered or sealed and boxes in use are kept 6" off the floor and in the walk-in refrigerator at all times
- Ensure that any trash or empty boxes are kept off the floors and removed from the restaurant frequently
- Maintain a clean working environment and must take the necessary time and procedures to ensure all facilities and equipment are in compliance
