Job Summary:
The Delegating Nurse is a pivotal role within our assisted living facility, responsible for overseeing the healthcare services provided to our residents. This role involves supervising and delegating nursing tasks to other healthcare staff, ensuring compliance with all healthcare regulations, and delivering top-tier patient care. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, clinical expertise, and a compassionate approach to elderly care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Delegation and Supervision:
- Assign and delegate appropriate nursing tasks to Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and other healthcare staff.
- Teach Nurse Delegation Classes
- Train Med Techs to provide medication per state regulations.
- Conduct audits of resident files for accuracy and competency.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of nursing staff to ensure compliance with established standards and regulations.
- Provide guidance, support, and training to nursing staff as needed.
- Clinical Oversight:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of residents' health status and develop individualized care plans.
- Oversee the administration of medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation of residents’ medical records and care plans.
- Resident Care:
- Address and resolve residents’ health concerns promptly and effectively.
- Coordinate with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare providers to ensure holistic care for residents.
- Advocate for residents' health and well-being, maintaining a resident-centered approach.
- Compliance and Quality Assurance:
- Ensure the facility complies with all state and federal healthcare regulations.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and audits.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to enhance the quality of care and safety of residents.
Qualifications:
- Education and Licensure:
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Washington.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience, preferably in an assisted living or long-term care setting.
- Prior experience in a supervisory or leadership role is highly desirable.
- Skills and Abilities:
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal communication abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and delegate tasks effectively.
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
Working Conditions:
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed.
- Ability to travel to communities located throughout Washington.
- Must adhere to safety and infection control policies and procedures.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $90,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year
